Welcome to the home of CHSTV on the web! Chelmsford High School Television is a student-run organization in cooperation with Chelmsford Telemedia. Our work is broadcast on Chelmsford's local cable access channel and includes full coverage of all games played by the CHS varsity football team, a bi-weekly CHS sports wrap-up show, coverage of events at the McCarthy auditorium (including most CHS concerts and plays), and "game of the week" coverage of Lowell Spinners baseball in cooperation with Lowell Telecommunications.

Join CHSTV

Are you a student at Chelmsford High School? Are you interested in camerawork, editing, or any other aspect of video production? CHSTV wants you! No prior experience is needed: We will teach you how to set up and operate our cameras, use an instant-replay station, film live sports and interviews, create your own graphics and video segments with high-end software, and much more! There are very few meetings to attend, and all broadcast work is on a volunteer basis, so you can fit CHSTV around your schedule.

If that sounds like fun to you, send us an email! We'll answer any questions you have and tell you about any upcoming events you can attend to get a feel for things. The address is studio@chstv.org. Alternatively, if you already know one of our members, go ahead and ask them about CHSTV.

Media Classes

Interested in learning about media and getting credit for it? We highly recommend the class [81002] Communications/Media I, taught by our advisor, and you don't even need to be in CHSTV to take it (though many of our members do). You'll learn about a wide range of media-related topics, including TV ratings, advertising, documentaries, multi-camera productions, lighting, and interviews, all in a single 45-minute block that will earn you five credits in either Practical Arts or Fine Arts, your choice. This class is offered only during the second semester, and is a prerequisite for Communications/Media II and Media Internship, which run during the first semester (see the course guide for details).
